How to Consign at Two Trolls

The Basics

  •  Bring us your items (see below)
  • Read and Sign our contract
  • You earn a percentage when your items sell
  • Spend your credits in store or request a check if you have more than $25 on your account
  • Repeat!


What We Take

We take a wide variety of items for children through adults, 

as well as Baby Gear, Toys and Athletic Equipment. 


Our most commonly accepted items:

  • Baby Gear (check recalls and expiration dates first)
  • Toys (all ages)
  • Seasonal Children’s Clothing (Toddler–Youth XL)
  • Baby Clothing (Boutique or New with Tags preferred)
  • Current Women’s/Junior styles (very selective)
  • Men’s Preppy and Athleisure styles
  • Shoes and Handbags
  • Athletic Items (Gear, Uniforms, Cleats, Dancewear, etc)
  • Kids Books (Baby/Toddler–Middle School)
  • Dress Up Costumes (Disney, Melissa & Doug)
  • Other Seasonal items as appropriate (see chart below)


What We Don't Take

  • Out of season clothing/shoes
  • Items that are dirty, stained, ripped or pilled
  • Items with smoke, pet hair or body odor
  • Older fashions 
  • Toys or Baby Gear that are dirty, broken or missing pieces
  • Expired or Recalled items
  • Maternity clothing
  • Towels or Curtains
  • Books with markings or library covers
  • DVDs/CDs
  • Homeschool Curriculum
  • Porcelain dolls and display dollhouses


How to Prep Items

  • Make sure all items are clean and odor-free. Check that all toys are working and have all their pieces. Check for recalls on baby gear/toys and expiration dates on car seats.
  • Lay clothing flat in a large storage tub or laundry basket. Only bring clothing that is in season, in good repair and free of stains. Check shoes for discoloration, splitting rubber or worn tread.

 


Appointment vs Drop Off

We accept items from Consignors two ways:


By Appointment

  • Make an Appointment through our Website at https://shoptwotrolls.com/consign/ola/services/consignment
  • You may come anytime during your one hour reserved time
  • A staff person will be available to look through your things
  • You may take back any items that we chose not to take 


Drop-Off

  • Staff will look through your items at a later date/time
  • You will NOT receive items back if we choose not to take some or all of your items
  • You may ask for a Donation Receipt at time of drop off
  • Staff reserve the right to refuse drop off of any items (especially large toys or furniture) that do not meet our standards

 

Items we choose not to take will be donated to local charities. Donation Receipts are available upon request. Items that are dirty, torn or otherwise unusable will be recycled or disposed of. We do not contact you prior to donating or disposing of items we cannot sell.


Viewing Your Items and Account

You will be given access to your consignor account through our online portal at time of contract. If you have any questions about how to use the portal, please call us at 757-206-1030.


Prices/Fees

We determine prices based on market value and item condition. To remain competitive in pricing, many items receive automatic discounts after 30 and 60 day periods. Some in-store sales and customer discounts may affect the price and/or earnings for an item.

You receive 40% when your items sell. A $10 Consignor’s Fee is applied annually to all active accounts, which covers the cost of consigning for 12 months. All fees come directly out of your earnings–You never pay us out of pocket. Additional fees may apply. See contract for details. 


Using Your Consignor Balance


  • Get the most from your earnings by using it to shop in store!


  • If you have more than $25 in your account, you may request a check by speaking to a sales associate in store or via phone. Checks are written ONCE a month. Additional fees apply. Please let us know BEFORE the 25th of the month if you would like a check. Requested checks are available the 1st of each month.


Consignment Period

The standard Consignment Period is 90 days. Your items will remain active for 90 days, then enter a 7 day grace period before converting to Store Inventory.


Closing Your Account

If you believe that you no longer intend to consign with us (moving, etc.) please let us know when you request your final check.



Most Asked Questions


  • What’s the difference between a Customer and a Consignor Account?     Customers earn rewards by spending $25 or more at each visit and linking their purchases to their email account. Consignors have signed a contract with us, pay a $10 annual fee to consign, and will earn store credit based on items they sell with us.


  • I have a piece of furniture or a large toy. Will you take it?    Please email a picture of your item to customercare@shoptwotrolls.com to check if we are able to take your item BEFORE bringing it in to us. We are limited in space and will be able to judge ahead of time if we are able to take your item. Please let us know as well if you are planning to bring many large pieces of Baby Gear.


  • I have items to consign that weren’t listed above. Will you take them?    We take a wide variety of items–it’s impossible to list all the possibilities! Please call 757-206-1030 and speak to someone in person about what you’d like to bring. We should be able to give you an idea over the phone if we would be able to try consigning your items.


  • Do you place a limit on the number of items each consignor can bring?    We do not have a consignor limit. That said, our store is limited by size, so we recommend each consignor bring one tub of their best in-season clothing, and one additional tub for shoes/toys at each drop off.


  • Some of my items didn’t sell after 90 days. What do I do?       Do you want them back? If no, then you don’t need to do anything! Items not sold after 90 days automatically transfer to store-owned inventory.     If you would like unsold items back after 90 days, you have a 7 day grace period to come and pick them up. Using the list available on your online Consignor Account, find the items you would like back, give us the price tickets, and they’re yours to take home.
